I’ve come across an amazing site that has changed the way I design nearly anything. Colourlovers is a site dedicated to colour. Users upload created colours which they personally put a name to. But the best part is the palettes section. Users upload a colour palette of five colours which they think work well (or sometimes not so well) together. Either way it’s a great way to choose a colour palette and see it in action before actually starting designing. Hot.

I’m sure most of you have caught wind of the recent aquisition of Trade Me, by Australian media company John Fairfax Holdings. Home-grown Wellington lad Sam Morgan, who founded Trade Me in 1999, stands to make at least $227 million out of the deal. Not bad.

This afternoon I was on a flight back from Auckland and got thinking, I wonder what I’d do with $200mil. Sure, the pious amongst us would all love to give half of it away to feed the poor and destitute, eradicate HIV and sponsor our parents retirements. But ya see, the thing is… I wonder… would we really do that? Or when the push comes to shove, would we just end up buying a Lamborghini, a massive house and a whole lot of Chupa Chups!?

Five things I reckon I’d do with that much money is:

Bank it

Pay my rent for this week

Pay my student loan off… oh and my tax bill also…

Pay my rent for last week

Donate more to this, or this mag, or these guys, or these kids.

I wanna know what you’d do with $200mil? Would you invest it? Spend it? Save? Donate? Forget where you put it?
