The challenge

Early 2019 Vend were at a tricky intersection many companies find themselves at - having an in-flight DX programme of work, with a steady stream of business as usual updates and campaign work required to stay competitive in a highly contested market. Shifting resources from the DX programme to deliver updates would only put them further away from their end goal.

The solution

Vend needed a trusted partner to provide ongoing continuous improvements to their website: Our ethos for the relationship was to become an extension of Vend’s marketing and IT teams, and provide Vend with certainty of resource allocation and support.

The results

For the next 12+ months, Catch and Vend formed a close delivery partnership, with plenty of Poke Poke lunches. Weekly co-location at both Vend’s office in Newmarket, and down at our Britomart office allowed us to work at pace. Working both to deliver tactical updates to their legacy CMS where required, and develop components for their new CMS allowed Vend to deliver their DX programme while not losing momentum in the market. Also Vend recently sold for $455m, so that also seems like a decent result!
